I went for my yearly check up, that I had missed for three years. I thought all was fine until a week or so later. I received a phone call from my Dr.’s office telling me my pap came back abnormal. I scheduled an appointment to come in for another pap and a biopsy. After about a week the office called and told me I needed to come in to talk to the Dr. about my results. It was not good news. He told me I had stage 3 cervical cancer. I was devastated.
I went home and told my husband. We cried and prayed together. That was on a Thursday. On Sunday we told our Sunday School Class. They sat around me and laid hands on me and prayed over me. I felt such peace.
My surgery was scheduled for the following Tuesday. Of course I was afraid and in tears by that time. My pastor came and prayed with us and was there with my husband throughout the surgery.
After they took me to the operating room the Dr. told my husband that he felt that he would not be able to do the surgery because the cancer had spread to far. He would do a frozen section and wait for results from pathology before opening me up for surgery. He said I would probably have to have 4 to 6 radiation treatments then come back for the surgery.
My husband told me that our pastor was with him when he got that news. He said they hit there knees and cried out to God on my behalf.
The frozen section came back NEGATIVE. He went thru with the surgery and there was no sign of cancer.
That was 20 years ago. I have not had any other problems or signs of cancer returning.
Our God IS bigger than cervical cancer.
